MOV : അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ നയമാൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരാമിന്നു ജയം നല്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെ മഹാനും മാന്യനും ആയി എണ്ണി; അവൻ പരാക്രമശാലി എങ്കിലും കുഷ്ഠരോഗി ആയിരുന്നു.
KJV : Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, [but he was] a leper.
YLT : And Naaman, head of the host of the king of Aram, was a great man before his lord, and accepted of face, for by him had Jehovah given salvation to Aram, and the man was mighty in valour -- leprous.
RV : Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given victory unto Syria: he was also a mighty man of valour, {cf15i but he was} a leper.

ERVEN : Naaman was the captain of the army of the king of Aram. He was very important to his king because the Lord used him to lead Aram to victory. Naaman was a great and powerful man, but he was also sick with leprosy.

MOV : അരാമ്യർ കവർച്ചപ്പടയായി വന്നിരുന്നപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയിരുന്നു; അവൾ നയമാന്റെ ഭാര്യക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുവന്നു.
KJV : And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
YLT : And the Aramaeans have gone out [by] troops, and they take captive out of the land of Israel a little damsel, and she is before the wife of Naaman,
RV : And the Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman-s wife.
RSV : Now the Syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little maid from the land of Israel, and she waited on Naaman's wife.

ERVEN : The Aramean army sent many groups of soldiers to fight in Israel. One time they took a little girl from the land of Israel. This girl became a servant of Naaman's wife.

ERVEN : She said to his wife, "I wish that my master would meet the prophet who lives in Samaria. He could heal Naaman of his leprosy."

KJV : And [one] went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that [is] of the land of Israel.
YLT : And [one] goeth in and declareth to his lord, saying, `Thus and thus she hath spoken, the damsel who [is] from the land of Israel.`
RV : And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
RSV : So Naaman went in and told his lord, "Thus and so spoke the maiden from the land of Israel."

ERVEN : Naaman went to the king and told him what the Israelite girl said.

MOV : നീ പോയി വരിക; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തു തരാം എന്നു അരാംരാജാവു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പത്തു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും ആറായിരം ശേക്കെൽ പൊന്നും പത്തു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും എടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
KJV : And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
YLT : And the king of Aram saith, `Go thou, enter, and I send a letter unto the king of Israel;` and he goeth and taketh in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of garments.
RV : And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand {cf15i pieces} of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
RSV : And the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten festal garments.
ASV : And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
ESV : And the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothes.
ERVEN : Then the king of Aram said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So Naaman went to Israel. He took 750 pounds of silver, 6000 pieces of gold and ten changes of clothes as gifts.

MOV : അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എഴുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു; അതിൽ: ഈ എഴുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന എന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻ നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നീ മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.
KJV : And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have [therewith] sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
YLT : And he bringeth in the letter unto the king of Israel, saying, `And now, at the coming in of this letter unto thee, lo, I have sent unto thee Naaman my servant, and thou hast recovered him from his leprosy.`
RV : And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

ERVEN : Naaman took the letter from the king of Aram to the king of Israel. The letter said: "Now this letter is to show that I am sending my servant Naaman to you. Cure his leprosy."

MOV : യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി: അവൻ ഇതാ, കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരാളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു! മരിപ്പിക്കയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ ദൈവമോ? നോക്കുവിൻ, അവൻ ഇതിനാൽ എന്നോടു ശണ്ഠെക്കു കാരണം അന്വേഷിക്കയല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, [Am] I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at the king of Israel`s reading the letter, that he rendeth his garments, and saith, `Am I God, to put to death and to keep alive, that this [one] is sending unto me to recover a man from his leprosy? for surely know, I pray you, and see, for he is presenting himself to me.`
RV : And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
RSV : And when the king of Israel read the letter, he rent his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? Only consider, and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me."

ESV : And when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? Only consider, and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me."
ERVEN : When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes to show he was sad and upset. He said, "Am I God? I don't have the power over life and death. So why did the king of Aram send a man sick with leprosy for me to heal? Think about it, and you will see that it is a trick. The king of Aram is trying to start a fight."

MOV : യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശാ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: നീ വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
KJV : And it was [so,] when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at Elisha the man of God`s hearing that the king of Israel hath rent his garments, that he sendeth unto the king, saying, `Why hast thou rent thy garments? let him come, I pray thee, unto me, and he doth know that there is a prophet in Israel.`

ERVEN : Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes. So Elisha sent this message to the king: "Why did you tear your clothes? Let Naaman come to me. Then he will know there is a prophet in Israel."

MOV : അങ്ങനെ നയമാൻ രഥത്തോടും കുതിരകളോടുംകൂടെ എലീശയുടെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നു നിന്നു.

MOV : എലീശാ ആളയച്ചു: നീ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം കുളിക്ക; അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദേഹം മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെയായി നീ ശുദ്ധനാകും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
KJV : And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
YLT : and Elisha sendeth unto him a messenger, saying, `Go, and thou hast washed seven times in Jordan, and thy flesh doth turn back to thee -- and be thou clean.

KJV : But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
YLT : And Naaman is wroth, and goeth on, and saith, `Lo, I said, Unto me he doth certainly come out, and hath stood and called in the name of Jehovah his God, and waved his hand over the place, and recovered the leper.

ESV : But Naaman was angry and went away, saying, "Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.
ERVEN : Naaman became angry and left. He said, "I thought Elisha would at least come out and stand in front of me and call on the name of the Lord his God. I thought he would wave his hand over my body and heal the leprosy.

MOV : ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ നദികളായ അബാനയും പർപ്പരും യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ വെള്ളങ്ങളെക്കാളും നല്ലതല്ലയോ? എനിക്കു അവയിൽ കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാകരുതോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ ക്രോധത്തോടെ പോയി.
KJV : [Are] not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
YLT : Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? do I not wash in them and I have been clean?` and he turneth and goeth on in fury.
RV : Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

ERVEN : Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, are better than all the water in Israel. Why can't I wash in those rivers in Damascus and become clean?" He was very angry and turned to leave.

MOV : എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു: പിതാവേ, പ്രവാചകൻ വലിയോരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നീ ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? പിന്നെ അവൻ: കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, [if] the prophet had bid thee [do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done [it?] how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
YLT : And his servants come nigh, and speak unto him, and say, `My father, a great thing had the prophet spoken unto thee -- dost thou not do [it]? and surely, when he hath said unto thee, Wash, and be clean.`
RV : And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
RSV : But his servants came near and said to him, "My father, if the prophet had commanded you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, `Wash, and be clean'?"
ASV : And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
ESV : But his servants came near and said to him, "My father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will you not do it? Has he actually said to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"
ERVEN : But Naaman's servants went to him and talked to him. They said, "Father, if the prophet told you to do some great thing, you would do it, isn't that right? But he said, 'Wash, and you will be pure and clean.'"

MOV : അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം മുങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ദേഹം ചെറിയ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹം പോലെ ആയി; അവൻ ശുദ്ധനായ്തീർന്നു.
KJV : Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
YLT : And he goeth down and dippeth in Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh doth turn back as the flesh of a little youth, and is clean.
RV : Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
RSV : So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

ERVEN : So Naaman did what the man of God said. He went down and dipped himself in the Jordan River seven times, and he became pure and clean. His skin became soft like the skin of a baby.

MOV : പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ സകലപരിവാരവുമായി ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിൽ അല്ലാതെ ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും ഒരു ദൈവം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അടിയന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു ഒരു പ്രതിഗ്രഹം കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that [there is] no God in all earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.
YLT : And he turneth back unto the man of God, he and all his camp, and cometh in, and standeth before him, and saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that there is not a God in all the earth except in Israel; and now, take, I pray thee, a blessing from thy servant.`
RV : And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a present of thy servant.
RSV : Then he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and he came and stood before him; and he said, "Behold, I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel; so accept now a present from your servant."

ERVEN : Naaman and all his group came back to the man of God. He stood before Elisha and said, "Look, I now know there is no God in all the earth except in Israel. Now please accept a gift from me."

MOV : അതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ ഒന്നും കൈക്കൊള്ളുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടും അവൻ വാങ്ങിയില്ല.
